IT Security Policies

Information security policies underpin the security and well being of information resources.. they are the foundation, the bottom line, of information security within an organization.:

  • develop them if they don't exist
  • implement them properly
  • manage compliance with them

As such, it is well worth pondering on a few questions and issues that relate to them:

  • Are they comprehensive enough? Are they up to date?
  • Are they complete? How do you support them?

    - However, having a security policy document in itself is not enough.... the contents MUST be deployed AND implemented to be effective. This is often easier said than done!

Let's consider those questions: Are they complete? Are they fully up to date? Do they reflect your needs?
